Im in the middle of quite possibly the juiciest, most delicious read of all time.. I can't stop. Im addicted.
The object of my current affection is the biography of the twenty five year love affair/roller coaster/insanity that was Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. "Furious Love" it is aptly named. And it was indeed furious.. Married and divorced twice, their affair began on the set of Cleopatra; she the biggest and most beautiful movie star of her day, he a well known heartbreaker and drinker, oozing with rugged masculinity. I love this man. I love her. The two of them together- a firestorm. Both married to different people at the time, it was quite the scandal in the early 1960's. Nothing could stop them- not even their current spouses on set, or their relationship being condemned by the Vatican and the pope himself. (yes!) ...oh this makes me so jealous. I want to find out how I can be condemned at least by Pat Robertson or some other religious right winger moral authority rule keeper. At least! Their fights were monumental, and only overshadowed by their voracious sexual appetite, which sometimes was even louder. The jewels, the private planes, the food, the booze, the sex, the mansions, the vacations, the lifestyle.. oh my.
you can see why i love this book...
She was magnificent, voluptuous, impossible, bossy, indulgent, mouthy and loved attention.
you can see why i love her...
Burton wrote her many letters over the years and the book is scattered with them. My favorite excerpt thus far:
...I feel very odd. Possibly because i'm sober. Though odd, it's a nice sensation. Can you believe your hubs is coming home sober? I can hardly believe it myself, but I will. This time I mean it. That sod inside me has decided to give in and cry uncle. Go read my diary. There's a bit in it about you. I thought you might like to know what it feels like to fuck you. Hastily, Hubs.
These two make Brad & Angie look like the Duggars. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and go out and buy this 500 page masterpiece and pure delight. Then slide into your 5" heels and pour yourself a stiff vodka martini and cheers to Liz & Dick.

Ok, so this book is the reason why your posts are MIA...I miss you
oh my, it sounds amazing.
So who would you rather guest appear as the 3rd Brangelina or Lick (I think that's way better than Elichard or Rizabeth!!!)? I am guessing by the the nicknames and your post it would probably be the latter option...?
Elizabeth Taylor was one BEAUTIFUL lady! :) I like to boast and say my grandmother looked like her ;) And I especially loved the letter than Richard wrote her. Romance can be so fiery.
i love all the ex-pin up girl ladies!!!
